Mr. Queen (2020)

The soul of the modern chef, Jang Bong-hwan, ends up in the body of Queen Kim So-yong after a freak accident involving a fall into a pool while he is trying to escape from a group of men. This accident occurs during a chaotic moment in his life, leading to his consciousness being transported back to the Joseon era.

Jang Bong-hwan struggles to adapt to life as Queen Kim So-yong, facing challenges such as navigating court politics, understanding the customs of the time, and dealing with the expectations of being a queen. His modern sensibilities often clash with the traditional values of the Joseon court, leading to humorous and awkward situations.

The relationship between Queen Kim So-yong and King Cheoljong evolves throughout the series. Initially, King Cheoljong is portrayed as a weak and indecisive ruler, but as Jang Bong-hwan inhabits the queen's body, he begins to see her strength and determination. Their relationship develops from one of misunderstanding to mutual respect and affection, as they work together to navigate the treacherous political landscape.

Queen Kim So-yong faces several antagonists in the court, primarily the powerful and manipulative Kim Jwa-geun, who seeks to control the king and the throne for his own gain. Additionally, there are other court officials and noble families that pose threats to her position and the stability of the kingdom, creating a tense atmosphere filled with intrigue and betrayal.

The royal physician, Seo Ji-moon, plays a crucial role in the story as he becomes one of the few allies of Queen Kim So-yong. He is initially skeptical of the queen's unusual behavior but gradually comes to understand her true identity. His medical knowledge and loyalty help her navigate the dangers of court life, and he becomes a confidant and supporter in her quest to protect the king and herself.
