What is the plot?

Amanda receives the text "NOW." She loads a pistol, leaves the lavatory, walks through the cabin, and enters the cockpit. Captain Robin Allen is still at the controls. Amanda raises the gun and shoots him in the head. She then locks the cockpit door, takes control of the aircraft, deletes the existing flight plan, disengages the autopilot, and turns Flight KA29 toward central London.

Outside the cockpit, the remaining hijackers do not know who Amanda is or why she has taken control. Stuart Atterton tries to maintain authority, but the passengers realize that the hijackers have lost control of the plane. Several passengers prepare to attack Stuart and the other armed men. They move toward them with the intention of killing or overpowering them.

Sam Nelson stops the passengers before the attack can begin. He explains that the immediate danger is no longer simply the hijackers in the cabin: an unknown person has taken over the cockpit, and the aircraft is being flown toward London. Sam tells the passengers that killing Stuart and the others will not solve the larger problem.

Sam confronts Stuart and demands the gun. Stuart initially resists, but Sam points out that the passengers are about to overwhelm him and that he needs to help prevent a massacre. Stuart admits that he has the only loaded weapon among the hijackers. Sam persuades him to surrender it, and Stuart hands it over.

With the loaded gun in his possession, Sam faces the passengers and orders them to stop. He tells them that the hijacking is over, but that they now have a different and more serious emergency. The aircraft is still in the air, someone else is flying it, and they have less than an hour to discover who is in the cockpit and prevent the plane from being used as a weapon.

The passengers retrieve the mobile phones that the hijackers had taken from them. Stuart explains that the phones were confiscated so the passengers could not tell people on the ground what was happening. Once communication is restored, passengers begin calling family members and emergency services.

Sam contacts Alice Sinclair, the air-traffic controller who has been helping him from the ground. He speaks carefully because other passengers are listening. At first, he gives the impression that the first officer is flying the plane, but Alice understands that he is concealing something. Sam eventually tells her that Captain Allen is dead and that a passenger named Amanda is controlling the aircraft.

Sam tries to communicate with Amanda through the aircraft's internal telephone system. Amanda answers, but she is focused on instructions from Edgar, the criminal organizer who had been coordinating the hijacking. She tells Sam that she is waiting for a message. Sam realizes that she believes Edgar will tell her what to do next and that she may crash the plane if she does not receive further orders.

Sam uses his phone to contact Marsha, his former wife. While the call is taking place, police inspector Daniel O'Farrell continues monitoring events connected to the hijacking. Daniel learns that Marsha's son Kai is at Sam's home and that someone had earlier called asking for Sam's address.

At Sam's house, the people connected to the hijacking arrive and seize Kai. Daniel realizes that the boy has been taken and moves to intervene. To get the kidnappers out of the house, he creates a false evacuation warning, making them believe that police or emergency personnel are about to enter the building. The deception gives Daniel an opportunity to confront them and recover Kai.

On the aircraft, Sam learns that Edgar is dead, so Amanda is waiting for an instruction that will never arrive. He continues speaking to her and tries to persuade her to open the cockpit door. Amanda refuses to trust him and remains committed to following the plan she was given.

Sam tells Amanda that her daughter will be killed even if she obeys the people controlling the operation. He makes the threat sound certain, using the fear for her child to break her dependence on Edgar's instructions. Amanda becomes disoriented and frightened. She no longer knows whom to trust or what action will protect her daughter.

Amanda finally opens the cockpit door and allows Sam inside. He enters while the aircraft continues flying toward London. Sam tells her that she will not be treated as an enemy if she helps land the plane and that the people on the ground can protect her and her daughter.

Alice guides Sam and Amanda from the ground. Amanda explains the aircraft's position and the condition of the controls. The plane is already in a dangerous state because the flight plan has been erased, the autopilot is disabled, and the aircraft is not being managed normally. Sam stays beside Amanda and relays Alice's instructions while passengers in the cabin prepare for an emergency landing.

The aircraft loses most of its power and begins to glide. The engines flame out, leaving Amanda with only limited control over the plane's direction and descent. Alice identifies a runway approximately five thousand feet long and guides them toward it. Amanda has only one realistic chance to line up with the runway.

Sam and Amanda struggle to keep the aircraft aligned as it descends. The plane approaches the runway at high speed and with insufficient power for a normal landing. The passengers adopt the crash position after the command "brace, brace, brace" is issued.

The aircraft hits the runway hard. The impact damages the landing gear, and the engines detach and erupt in flames as the plane skids along the ground. The aircraft remains on the runway rather than crashing into London, but the landing is violent and leaves the passengers shaken and injured.

After the plane stops, the connection with air-traffic control is lost for a period, leaving people on the ground uncertain about whether the aircraft has landed safely. Sam eventually makes contact and confirms that Flight KA29 has landed.

Stuart tries to prevent Sam from leaving immediately. He locks a door and keeps Sam trapped on the aircraft with him. Sam remains alert while police and soldiers approach the plane. The passengers begin leaving under armed escort, moving cautiously through the damaged aircraft and onto the runway.

The authorities remove the passengers and take the surviving hijackers into custody. Stuart, Alec, Jaden, Terry, and Jamie are arrested. Sam eventually exits the plane with Marsha still on the telephone, while the hijacking and the immediate threat to London come to an end.

What is the ending?

The plane lands safely, though the landing is rough and nearly catastrophic. Sam helps Amanda land Flight KA29, and the hijackers are arrested. Sam confronts Stuart before leaving the plane and reunites with Marsha by phone.

Amanda takes control of the cockpit and redirects the plane toward London. Outside, the passengers and hijackers realize that the aircraft may crash into the city. Sam persuades Stuart to surrender his loaded gun, then tells the passengers that the hijacking is over but that they now face the greater danger of landing the plane.

Sam reaches Amanda through the cockpit door. She is terrified because the people behind the hijacking are threatening her daughter. Sam learns that she killed the captain under that pressure, and he promises that she will not be arrested if she cooperates. Alice, the air-traffic controller, works with Sam to find a runway and guide the aircraft down.

Amanda eventually lets Sam into the cockpit. Together they prepare for the landing while Alice gives them instructions from the ground. The plane loses power and begins to glide, leaving them only one opportunity to land. Amanda brings KA29 down hard on the runway. The aircraft skids, jolts violently, and briefly appears close to disaster, but it stops without crashing into London.

Once the plane is on the ground, the passengers begin leaving. Alec, Jaden, Terry, and Jamie are taken into custody. Stuart also appears to surrender, but Sam notices that he has escaped his restraints and that his phone is still in the cockpit. Sam understands that Stuart remains dangerous. He sends Marsha a message saying, "I'm sorry," then takes Stuart's phone and exits the aircraft.

Outside, authorities arrest Stuart. Sam finally walks away from the plane, still speaking with Marsha, while the passengers are freed and the hijacking ends. Amanda survives and is taken into custody rather than killed or left to face the authorities alone. Alice remains on the ground after guiding the aircraft to safety. Stuart and the other principal hijackers are arrested, and Sam survives after helping prevent the plane from becoming a weapon over London.

Is there a post-credit scene?

No. "Brace Brace Brace" does not have a post-credit scene. The episode ends after the emergency response to the landing, the hijackers' arrests, and Sam's reunion with his family; the credits then roll without an additional scene.

Who is the woman who takes control of KA29’s cockpit, and why does she hijack the plane from Stuart’s group?

The woman is Amanda Taunton. She is not part of Stuart's hijacking team and appears in the cockpit after receiving the instruction "Now." Amanda has been coerced by Edgar and John, who are holding her daughter Elodie hostage. She is expected to fly KA29 toward London and await another message before landing.

How does Sam Nelson regain control of the cabin from Stuart and the other hijackers?

Sam persuades Stuart that the passengers and hijackers face a more immediate danger because Amanda has taken over the aircraft. With the passengers beginning to overpower Jonty and Jaden, Sam forces Stuart to acknowledge that his group no longer controls the plane. Stuart ultimately hands Sam the loaded firearm, allowing Sam and the passengers to restrain the hijackers.

Why does Alec reveal that Amanda will not listen to Sam’s attempts to reason with her?

Alec reveals that he helped arrange the financial transaction connected to the hijacking and understands the leverage being used against Amanda. Edgar and John are threatening Amanda's daughter, Elodie, so Amanda continues following their instructions despite Sam's warnings. Her refusal to cooperate is driven by the fear that disobeying will put her child in danger.

How does Sam communicate with Alice Sinclair after discovering that Amanda is flying the plane?

After the passengers recover their phones, Sam contacts Alice Sinclair on the ground. He initially disguises the seriousness of the situation by claiming that the first officer is flying, but Alice realizes he is concealing something. Sam eventually explains that Amanda is controlling KA29, and Alice helps provide the information and guidance needed to prepare Amanda for the landing.

How does KA29 attempt to land safely after Amanda changes its course toward London?

Sam and Alice work through the phone to guide Amanda while the aircraft approaches London. Amanda is waiting for a message that will never arrive because Edgar is dead, leaving her uncertain and frightened in the cockpit. As the plane loses most of its power, the landing becomes largely a glide, and Sam, Alice, and Amanda coordinate the final approach while the passengers brace themselves.
