In episode 7, titled 'Art for Art's Sake,' Daredevil faces Muse again in a brutal fight. Muse has kidnapped Heather Glenn and is using her blood to create his final piece of art. Daredevil arrives just as Muse is strangling Heather, and they engage in a violent battle. Daredevil wounds Muse by firing his billy club through Muse's shoulder and drags him to paint streaks of blood on a canvas. The fight ends when Heather shoots Muse with his own gun, killing him before collapsing from blood loss.

Daredevil revisits Muse's lair and finds sketches that Angela del Toro had mentioned earlier. Using his heightened senses, he feels the paint and recognizes Heather's face in the pattern. Officer Powell also uses facial-recognition software to identify Heather Glenn as the recurring subject in Muse's paintings. This leads Daredevil and the police to rush to Heather's office to save her.

In episode 7, Heather notices bruises on Matt Murdock's body and suspects he is lying about where he goes at night. She confronts him, showing awareness that Matt is avoiding recent trauma. Matt tries to joke his way out of it but knows he is on thin ice in their relationship, indicating tension and strain between them.

Mayor Wilson Fisk is informed that Angela del Toro survived an attack by Muse, who was stopped by Daredevil. Fisk's expression turns sour when he hears Daredevil is back, muttering 'He's back.' It is unclear if Fisk is angry that Matt went against his orders to stay out of costume or if he is excited for a worthy challenge. Fisk also holds a press conference claiming victory and promotes his anti-vigilante task force.

It is revealed that Muse, whose real name is Cooper, is skilled in taekwondo, explaining his formidable fighting ability. There is also a hint that he may have killed his coach, a crime that was never fully investigated. Muse's mental state deteriorates further, shown by a nosebleed and ominous behavior, including using his own blood to draw his mask and threatening Heather Glenn.
