What is the ending?
Nakao, transformed into a Shocker grunt with super strength, saves a food truck owner from yakuza thugs in a heroic act that defies his evil organization. Later, at Izakaya Futaba, Tojima and his friends react in disbelief to a news article calling the costumed savior a "Shocker hero," ending the episode on their stunned faces.
The episode's ending unfolds in the late evening streets, where Nakao Hachiro, now fully embracing his role as a Shocker companion grunt after surviving impalement by Man-Spider's fangs earlier, patrols in his full black combat uniform complete with hood and mask, his body enhanced by Shocker modifications granting him unnatural super strength and resilience. He spots a group of yakuza thugs harassing the owner of a small taiyaki food truck, the vendor cowering behind his cart as the gang members smash trays of fish-shaped pastries onto the pavement and demand protection money with raised fists and drawn knives. Nakao charges in without hesitation, his eyes fierce beneath the mask, grabbing one thug by the collar and hurling him effortlessly into a nearby wall with a thud that cracks the brick, sending the man crumpling unconscious. The other thugs turn, pulling guns, but Nakao dodges bullets with inhuman speed, closing the distance to deliver bone-crunching punches that drop them one by one, their weapons clattering to the ground as they groan in pain. The food truck owner stares wide-eyed, unharmed, as Nakao stands over the defeated pile of bodies, breathing heavily but victorious, his gloved hands clenched.
Nakao then turns to the grateful vendor, who bows repeatedly, stammering thanks, while Nakao nods silently before vanishing into the shadows of the alley, leaving the scene behind. Cut to the next day at Izakaya Futaba, the cozy restaurant lit warmly by hanging lanterns, where Tojima Tanzaburo and his companions--the Shimamura brothers and their circle--gather around a low table littered with empty sake cups and plates from their post-battle celebration earlier in the episode. Tojima, still buzzing with adrenaline from his Rider Punch clash against Man-Spider, pulls out his phone and shows them a fresh news article headline blaring about a mysterious "Shocker hero" who saved a civilian from thugs, complete with blurry photos of Nakao in his grunt uniform mid-fight. The group leans in, faces shifting from curiosity to shock: Futaba Shimamura gasps behind the counter, the brothers exchange wide-eyed glances, and Tojima blurts out disbelief, waving his hand dismissively as if it's absurd. Their laughter mixes with confusion, the screen freezing on their incredulous expressions as the episode credits roll.
Tojima Tanzaburo ends the episode alive and optimistic, surrounded by friends at the izakaya, his hero dream reinforced despite the baffling news. His companions, including the Shimamura siblings like Futaba, remain safe and united, reacting collectively to the article without harm. Nakao Hachiro survives as a Shocker grunt, his fate open-ended after his uncharacteristically heroic deed, having walked away unscathed from the fight. Kumota, revealed as Man-Spider, has retreated earlier and does not appear in the final scenes, his status unchanged from prior retreat. The food truck owner is rescued and safe, last seen bowing in gratitude.
Is there a post-credit scene?
Yes, "Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider" Season 1 Episode 7 features a post-credits scene focused on the transformation and integration of Nakao into the Shocker organization.
The scene opens in a dimly lit park at dusk, where Nakao--still reeling from his brutal defeat earlier in the episode--stumbles upon his group of friends lounging casually on benches, oblivious to the shadows creeping in. His face is pale, marked by dried bloodstains around his mouth, eyes wide with a mix of lingering pain and newfound fanaticism; internally, he's driven by desperation to belong, having begged for power after Spider-Man's impalement left him coughing blood and blacking out on a bench, only to awaken transformed. He raises his arm sharply in the iconic Shocker salute, his voice hoarse but resolute as he declares his allegiance, triggering a grotesque metamorphosis: his civilian clothes rip away in wisps of dark energy, replaced by the authentic Shocker grunt uniform--black bodysuit with the signature skull motif, gloves, and boots materializing over his skin in a visceral, bubbling effect that makes his friends recoil in shock before cheering. Nakao's expression shifts from vulnerability to triumphant glee, his emotional arc complete as he embraces his role not as a cosplayer, but as a true Shocker companion, fists clenched in loyalty to the organization that "saved" him. The camera pulls back as the group disperses into the twilight, hinting at future threats, fading to black on Nakao's eerie, satisfied grin.
