Iyanu: Season 1, Episode 1 - The Chosen (2025)

In the first episode, Iyanu unknowingly triggers her Divine Powers, which include control over natural elements and special abilities that mark her as 'The Chosen.' These powers become evident as she escapes the city of Elu and later uses them to pass dangerous trials at The Source Mountain.

Olori is Iyanu's mentor who is captured early in the series, which forces Iyanu to go on the run. Olori's capture is a key plot point that sets Iyanu's journey in motion and highlights the political corruption within the city of Elu.

The Source Mountain is a sacred place where Iyanu and her friends are brought after being rescued from the swamplands. Iyanu is tasked with passing three trials there to prove she is 'The Chosen.' These trials test her skills and control over her powers, including navigating a dangerous obstacle course and controlling natural elements, with guidance from Mama Sewa.

The People of the Deep are a group led by a man who comes to take Iyanu, claiming she is 'The Chosen.' They are mind-controlled by Chancellor Nuro, who is possessed by the Fallen One, and act as antagonists trying to capture Iyanu and enforce Nuro's corrupt will.

Biyi, Toye, and Ekun are Iyanu's close friends who accompany her on her journey. After collapsing in the desert, they are rescued together and brought to The Source Mountain. They support Iyanu as she embraces her role as 'The Chosen' and face the challenges ahead alongside her.
